Description

Think of Holland and you think of tulips. That’s the way it’s been since the first tulip bulbs arrived from Turkey in the late 16th century. Around the time of the stock exchange crash in 1637, Jacob Marrel created a magnificent tulip album showing numerous varieties of the flower, each accompanied by its official name. The drawing “Two Tulips” from the Rijksmuseum collection inspired Royal Goedewaagen to create an unique series of three ceramic mugs.
