In 1935 the town council of Amsterdam made a historical decision. Palace ‘De Dam’ was sold to, what is now called, the Central Government Real Estate Agency. Nowadays the royal family uses this palace to welcome their guests, state visits and new year’s receptions. Since 1979 the palace is open to public visits. Royal Goedewaagen created ceramic miniatures of the different palaces in the Netherlands, which are traditionally hand-painted in Blue Delft or Polychrome.
