Gouda pottery
Gouda pottery ('Gouds plateel') is a collective name for both glossy and matt glazed earthenware, as produced by various pottery factories in Gouda. This technique was widely used in Jugendstil and Art Nouveau ceramics from around 1900.
At Royal Goedewaagen we still master this technique and also implement it. We have four collections: the glossy Art Nouveau series 'Laila', the intriguing Art Nouveau edition 'Fiore', the elegant Art Nouveau models from 'Amata' and the matt plate Art Deco collection 'Iris'.
These Gouds Plateel collections are made in limited numbers of 999 pieces. Most of the design is painted by hand. Each piece is numbered and signed by the painter. An accompanying numbered Certificate of Authenticity guarantees the quality of these authentic masterpieces. Real collector's items!
